We are currently seeking a Technical Consultant for our Ottawa office

The candidate for this position will have a solid and proven track record in technology consulting. Experience and knowledge of complex, heterogeneous and Microsoft infrastructure systems is required. The implementation of Security, Identity Management, and Rights Management based on Microsoft platforms is the focus. This position requires a highly motivated, confident and ambitious individual. In addition to technical skills, it is expected that the candidate will also possess excellent customer-facing consulting skills. This includes preparing and presenting technical content to a non-technical audience.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Resolve conflicts, assist staff and external customers under time.
• Ability to use computer equipment / software – Very Advanced.
• Ability to provide clear/concise reports and presentations in a timely fashion.
• Ability to assimilate and organize technical /business information rapidly.
• A broad knowledge of Information Security and Technology concepts. As outlined in the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).
• Ability to travel throughout North America 50-100% of the time.

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree (or diploma) and/or professional designation specializing in computer science and security.
• Preferred professional designation is the CISSP, additional designations may include: Security Management, MCSE, CCNA, CNA.
• Must be able to obtain Government Security Clearances.

Required Experience:

• Working knowledge of Identity and/or Rights management systems as well as authentication, encryption and digital signature protocols.
• Proven IT analytical capabilities in a team environment.
• Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to write comprehensively and communicate effectively.
• Must understand quickly, document his/her work well and be able to effectively explore and present solutions to complex problems with minimal supervision.
• Experience with the following is considered to be an advantage: MS Exchange, MS Active Directory, MS Office, Server Architecture, TCP/IP and other communication protocols, encryption technologies, security protocols and principles, and other business related computer technologies.
