Company to help federal agency to prevent inadvertent disclosure by enabling 250,000 VA users to classify and secure email
OTTAWA, ON – October 16, 2007 –TITUS Inc., a leading provider of government and enterprise data classification software, today announced they were awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for an enterprise license of TITUS Message Classification. The Message Classification solution will raise awareness and reduce risks of inadvertent disclosure within the agency's existing e-mail infrastructure. TITUS Message Classification was chosen for labelling email on 250,000 VA personal computers.
Message Classification helps raise awareness internally to the sensitivity of information and offers complete integration with Microsoft Outlook, Rights Management Services (RMS) and Active Directory, enabling VA to leverage existing identity and desktop management infrastructure to classify, manage and control email. Microsoft RMS encryption can now be invoked with a single click classification selection, providing the ease-of-use that VA end users require.
“The award of this significant contract further validates Titus’ growth and leadership position in providing scalable, easy-to-use data classification solutions for the government,” said Tim Upton, president and CEO of Titus. “The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ decision to classify their information using Message Classification demonstrates VA’s strong commitment to securing their email with an easy to use and full-featured classification tool for their users.”
Under the contract, TITUS Message Classification software will be provided to VA via the prime systems integrator, IBM Global Services. In addition, TITUS International, the leading consultants and integrators for Microsoft Windows Rights Management Services (RMS), will sub contract to IBM Global Service to provide the RMS deployment services. TITUS International is the leading expert in successful RMS deployments including architecture, pilot, and best practices for full deployment roll-outs. TITUS International will manage the deployment associated with the implementation of Microsoft RMS and TITUS Message Classification.
