The latest version of the TMC software, version 3.1, delivers the power to label both inbound and outbound messages as well as classify portions of an email. TMC 3.1 enables users to label incoming mail to enable better records management. In addition, military organizations can now benefit from the new capability to classify portions of an email. These new features help organizations understand the value of what needs to be protected and to better find, manage and control sensitive data.
“E-mail management is a top priority at Bechtel,” said Jerry Barnes, Corporate Records Manager. Bechtel.“We have recently started to roll out the TITUS Message Classification product, which will help our efforts in the areas of security awareness and records management.”
Organizations must protect information assets while promoting information sharing. The first step in solving this challenge is to classify email at the time of creation, so that the organization can identify the information’s value, and manage it according to the impact of its discovery to the public. This is also imperative to achieving compliance to the many data protection and privacy regulations that currently exist.
TITUS Message Classification for Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Web App enables users to apply a business value with classification markings to email before saving or sending. The people in an organization are the closest to the critical data and with TMC users can easily apply a business value to the content before it is sent. TITUS Message Classification easily integrates into existing IT and defense environments. Classifications are saved as metadata enhancing other infrastructure solutions, providing strong ROI and immediate compliance and information protection impact.
“Data classification helps prevent the inadvertent exposure of sensitive data while enabling more information access,” said Tim Bloechl, Microsoft’s Managing Director for Worldwide Public Safety and National Security. “TITUS Message Classification solution extends Microsoft Office and helps Military, Intelligence and other organizations using classified data: raises awareness of information sensitivity; helps ensure secure information sharing; and prevents data leakage to unauthorized recipients.”
New features in the TMC 3.1 release today include:
“Time and time again, there are high profile cases of email slips that have a major impact on the organization’s reputation and business,” said Charlie Pulfer, Vice President Product Marketing, Titus. “Organizations that take an integrated approach to email security which includes classification of inbound and outbound messages, as well as labelling, are able to create user awareness and strengthen overall email security. TMC’s tight integration into Microsoft Outlook enables public and private sector organizations to seamlessly include classification and labelling as part of their strategy.”
