The first and only solution to automatically apply visual markings to documents on the server helping government organizations adhere to compliance standards for protective marking.
Ottawa, ON —December 15, 2009 — TITUS today announced the release of TITUS Document Marking for FCI enabling organizations to automatically apply consistent visual markings such as headers, footers and watermarks to documents on the server. This new offering is the first and only solution on the market to apply visual markings to documents in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 based on the File Classification Infrastructure (FCI). The solution raises security awareness among users and helps to ensure compliance with marking regulations.
Increasingly, government and military organizations worldwide are required to meet industry standards to protectively mark data. This includes regulations such as HMG, Government Protective Marking Scheme and GSCx in the United Kingdom, the E-Protective Marking Standard in Australia, and Controlled Access Program Coordination Office (CAPCO) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in the United States. A protective marking indicates to all users the level of protection the information needs.
"The need for Protective Marking continues to grow as governments and military organizations look to technology to keep sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands,” said Tim Bloechl, Managing Director Worldwide Public Safety and National Security at Microsoft. “Microsoft is working closely with TITUS to help address this growing need and address data marking and classification head-on."
Adding protective markings to documents is one of the most effective ways to increase security awareness. By including classification labels in the document itself, authors and recipients are more accountable for proper information handling. TITUS Document Marking for FCI requires no user intervention and labels can be changed at any time with a simple policy update by the administrator.
"In conjunction with Windows Server 2008 R2, TITUS Document Marking for FCI delivers the power to better manage information and improve protection and policy enforcement within the enterprise," explained Charlie Pulfer vice president of Product Management for TITUS "Protective Marking is an area of major concern, and our offering eliminates the guesswork by automating the use of visual markings at the server-level, thereby extending the value of existing investments in Windows Server 2008 R2."

TITUS Document Marking for FCI is available immediately and priced at $4995 US per server. The solution is available through TITUS and its authorized partners.
