TITUS Classification Suite Offers More Robust, Integrated Experience

Enhanced DLP integration; improved email control just some of the many enhancements

Toronto, ON — SC Congress Toronto, Booth 407 – June 17, 2014 — For close to a decade, TITUS has been a market leader for enterprise data classification solutions. Large organizations such as Dell, Nokia, and Dow Corning have shown by example how data classification is critical for enterprise organizations outside of military and government to effectively protect and confidently share sensitive information. Today, TITUS introduced the latest release of TITUS Classification Suite, providing a robust and highly integrated suite of classification and information governance tools.

TITUS Classification Suite offers enterprises a suite of products that will help end users easily and intuitively identify, protect and confidently share information. The suite consists of four products which allow users to classify and protect a wide variety of unstructured information – from email in both Exchange and Outlook Web App (OWA), to Microsoft Office documents, to media files, PDFs, zip files, and more.

"Classification is the foundation for data security, and it is especially important for the success of other data security solutions, such as DLP. Classifying your data helps both technology and people make decisions on what to do to with data and how to handle it appropriately," wrote Stephanie Balaouras, John Kindervag, and Heidi Shey in the Forrester Research Inc. report, ‘TechRadar: Data Security Q2 2014’ (April 2014).

TITUS is continuing to enhance its integration with data loss prevention (DLP) solutions, helping to reduce the risk of data loss by capturing end users' knowledge about the sensitivity of information, and making that available in the form of visual classification labels and corresponding metadata. In this release, TITUS has enhanced its integration with McAfee DLP Endpoint, as well as other leading DLP solutions.

According to a CISO for one of the big five banks in Canada, "Using TITUS Classification in conjunction with McAfee DLP allows us to involve our end users and their knowledge of the information they create in order to optimize data management policies. We are striving to improve our data loss prevention practices while enhancing secure information sharing."

TITUS Classification Suite features the flagship product, TITUS Message Classification (TMC), which provides classification and policy enforcement to help organizations secure their enterprise email. Over the years, TITUS has listened to customers and how they are deploying and using TITUS products in their organizations. This latest release features several significant enhancements to TMC that have been requested by customers, such as:

  • Improved control over email attachments to help prevent inadvertent disclosure of intellectual property, personally identifiable information, and other sensitive information.
  • Enhanced Active Directory integration to ensure the right people are accessing the right information through email.
  • Deployment enhancements to make it easier for organizations to provide different configurations to different users.
  • Support for advanced classification schemas in OWA.
