Administration

The Message Classification Administration Tool enables organizations to centrally configure and deploy their classification labels and policies. The Administration Tool supports the following capabilities:

  • Customizable classification schemes, including support for military classification guidelines such as CAPCO, CUI, NATO, HMG/GPMS, and Australian EPMS. Organizations can customize all user interface text to support international languages and business terminology.
  • Flexible formatting and placement of visual labels, including message body labels, subject line marking, and declassification instructions.
  • Customizable metadata properties for interoperability with network guards, archiving solutions, data loss prevention (DLP), and perimeter security solutions.
  • Powerful policy enforcement that warns users of policy violations before the email leaves the desktop.
  • Automatic protection with S/MIME encryption and signing, or Microsoft Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS).

Classification settings are stored in a configuration file that can be deployed using Microsoft Group Policy. Different configurations can be rolled out to different users, either through the use of multiple configuration files, or by integrating with Microsoft Active Directory.
