Controlled Access Program Coordination Office (CAPCO)
The Controlled Access Program Coordination Office (CAPCO) maintains the CAPCO marking standard pursuant to the provisions of the National Security Act of 1947, as amended, and Executive Orders 12333, 12958, 13526 and 13549. It includes a list of the authorized terms that may be used to mark classified materials and also prescribes the exact format for their display
TITUS products help enforce consistent and accurate classification markings that comply with the CAPCO marking guidelines. The TITUS solutions make it simple for users to select the correct classifications even without in-depth knowledge of the CAPCO standard. The products display the correct label combinations by using hierarchical menus, and prevent user errors caused by too many choices.
The complexity of the CAPCO standard is condensed into simple, user-friendly dropdown menus, and visual markings are applied according to the CAPCO guidelines. With the portion marking feature, users can mark individual portions of a document. The document’s classification will be automatically upgraded based on the highest classification used in portion marking.
For example, a CONFIDENTIAL document with SECRET portions would be upgraded to a SECRET document. As shown in the following TITUS screenshots, documents and email are clearly marked to eliminate any doubt or uncertainty regarding the classification status of the information.
Guided Classification simplifies the classification selection by displaying the correct label combinations using hierarchical menus.
Visual labels can be inserted before and/or after the subject line and message body, and can be customized to meet marking standards such as CAPCO.
