Large Investment Firm Selects TITUS Classification Solutions for 50,000 users

TITUS Offering to Enable Firm to Meet Compliance Requirements and Control Flow of Sensitive Information

Ottawa, ON- September 17, 2008 - TITUS Labs Inc., the leading provider of email and document classification software today announced that a large investment firm has selected the TITUS Message Classification (TMC),   and TITUS Labs Document Classification (TDC) solutions.  These solutions will allow 50,000 users to classify Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Web App (OWA), and BlackBerry email, as well as Microsoft Office documents.  Classification will be used for data loss prevention and to help find information for audits.

As a large investment firm, this financial organization is subject to numerous compliance requirements under regulations such as Sarbanes Oxley and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Using TITUS solutions the firm will be able to ensure users adhere to their classification process and policies which designate email and documents as Internal, Confidential or Highly Restricted.  This approach ensures that employees are aware and accountable for how that data is handled.  In addition, the organization is better able to manage data required by compliance auditors as well as control the flow of information inside and outside the enterprise.

The firm will be moving from a template driven system for documents to the TITUS commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution, which offers full support and customization for the firm’s future data classification policy and overall information lifecycle management strategies. TITUS Classification metadata will be leveraged by the existing Data Loss Prevention solution to ensure the explicit protection of Highly Restricted data. The classification solution integrates with the existing encryption tools to simplify and automate encryption based on labels. The classification labels can be used in Records Management to determine the proper information to retain, and to determine the appropriate retention period for information.
