Financial organizations turn to classification to enforce policy and mitigate data loss

On Tuesday, June 3, TITUS will participate in the Data Risk Management in Financial Services (DRMFS) Summit, taking place at the London Stock Exchange. DRMFS is an international event that brings together heads of security from central banks across the EU, chief information officers (CIO), chief security officers (CSO) as well as regulators, and banking and insurance security specialists to debate internal and external threats to data security.

TITUS is pleased to sponsor this event, as we know first-hand the benefits user-driven classification can bring to organizations in the financial services industry. Unicredit Tiriac Bank and Splitska Bank are just two of the many international financial organizations that have chosen TITUS as part of their risk management and information compliance program. TITUS security and compliance solutions help financial organizations enforce policy, mitigate data loss and control risk.

For UniCredit Tiriac Bank, ensuring data is handled appropriately at all stages in its lifecycle is highly important – every single day, the company’s more than 3,000 employees are handling sensitive financial information for individuals and businesses. UniCredit Tiriac Bank is using classification in conjunction with DLP in order to involve their end users in appropriate identifying information.

“Employees are actively engaged in security by classifying email and documents from their desktop,” said Cristian Nica, CSO with UniCredit Tiriac Bank. “Our time to move from implementation to user acceptance of the classification solutions was negligible as employees immediately understood the process and had greater awareness around how information should be handled. Investing in classification was a small price when it comes to preventing any financial and business impact stemming from a data breach.”

For Splitska Bank, they faced a need to comply with security guidelines laid out by the Croatian Central Bank. Among these requirements was a need to classify all information assets according to risk assessment and information security. In order to comply with these directives, Splitska Bank needed to implement a more consistent approach to classification.

“We required a solution that would allow us to easily and effectively protect our corporate data,” said Davor Matošic, CISO at Splitska Banka.” We chose the TITUS solutions as they were easy to deploy and use, and seamlessly integrated with our Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office environment. This simplified the process of deploying the software and getting our users up and running quickly.”

If you are attending DRMFS on June3 in London, be sure to stop by Stand A3 and speak with TITUS about how our classification solutions can help your financial organization protect information and comply with specific regulations. TITUS Vice President Blair Canavan will be participating in the panel, “Managing Risk, Integrity and Security – Identifying Key Operational Vulnerabilities” at 12:15pm.
